Why We Fundraise.…

Team fundraising is a HUGE part of our annual Poppy Party! This is an opportunity for families to publicly recognize their baby/child while raising awareness and funds for the Mamie’s mission. It’s easy to get involved and only takes a few minutes to set up a fundraising page, complete with your personal story. We’re thankful to have so many families involved each year and love sharing their stories. One of the first families to sign up for our 2021 event is a family that we are very familiar with as this will be their 7th year to participate.

We wanted to give a special shout out to Ashley and Michael Bauss who are fundraising once again this year in memory of their daughter Ansley Claire.

When did you first become involved with Mamie's?

We first became involved with Mamie's in 2014 when we attended our 1st Race to Remember.

Why is Mamie's a cause you support?

We support Mamie's because our plate is so special to us.  Mamie's has given us the opportunity to give back in honor of our daughter, and help bring other families comfort during such a difficult time.

How many years have you participated in team fund raising?

This will be our 7th year raising funds to sponsor North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas

Team Ansley Claire

Who do you fundraise in memory of?

We raise funds in memory of our daughter, Ansley Claire Bauss.  Ansley was our first baby and was due on her mommy's birthday. At our routine anatomy scan they discovered some serious health issues. Ansley ended up being diagnosed with Turner Syndrome at 21 weeks. About a month after the diagnosis, Ansley was born still on November 30th, 2013.

How have you fundraised?

In the past we have raised funds by having a yard sale, but for the last few years we have mainly stuck with social media.

How has your plate helped in the grieving process?

Unfortunately the hospital was unable to get Ansley's hand and footprints, but that doesn't make our plate any less meaningful to us. We don't have many photos or things that were hers. So, having our poppy plate with her name and birthday on it is so special. It's something we will forever display in our home in memory of Ansley.
