We love passing along new resources as we come across them. Some of you may be familiar with The Studio. Stephanie Johnston, a mom and professional psychotherapist, opened the facility in Little Rock to provide counseling and support groups for other moms during trying times and to help in their healing process. Stephanie says she created the Studio to be a space where women can gather to ‘walk each other home’ on our journeys of self-development.
The Studio has several new classes for moms and healthcare providers that we are excited about and wanted to share. They are free to attend – all you need to do is reserve your spot at www.TheStudioLR.as.me
Trauma Mamas – Every 4th Saturday @ 12:30
30% of moms would describe their births as traumatic. This can include anything from an unplanned c-section, prolonged bed rest, preterm labor, or simply hostility in the birth environment. If you’ve had to both physically and mentally recover from your birth process you belong in this group. We’ll make artsy-Pinterest projects that will encourage the healing process while strengthening bonds and creativity.
Love and Loss – Every 2nd Saturday @12
The loss of a child is undoubtedly the most difficult experience that a mother can endure. No one should walk that dark journey alone. Come, find your tribe, connect with other loss Mamas, and speak your baby’s name. We’ll use art to facilitate the healing process while honoring your little loved one.
Aloe Vera for the Soul – Every 4th Saturday 10am-12
A free support group for helping professionals. Open to any provider in the healthcare field that needs to process the difficulties of compassion fatigue and reduce the risk of burnout. Free to attend.
